Ep. 30/The Courage to be Seen

OVercoming Rejection Sensitivity

Putting yourself out there can feel scary. Whether it’s sharing your art, your voice, or your truth, visibility often brings up fear. That fear is normal. It’s just your brain trying to protect you from potential rejection or failure.

But fear doesn’t have to control your story. Here are a few ways to work with your fear instead of against it: Notice the fear without judgment. Think big picture to shift from “What if I mess up?” to “What if this helps someone?” Start small and build confidence over time. Most importantly, take action that aligns with your values and feels true to you even when you’re scared.

Visibility isn’t about being loud or perfect. It’s about being real. When you show up from a grounded, loving place, people feel that.

In this solo episode of Music on Mushrooms, I offer a gentle pep talk and share practical tools for moving through fear and into aligned action. You’ll hear reflections on:

  • Why visibility feels so scary (and why that’s normal & okay)

  • How to reframe fear as a sign of growth

  • Simple ways to regulate your nervous system when you take strides towards visibility

  • The importance of taking aligned action as an artist

You don’t have to be fearless to be visible. You just have to be willing. Keep showing up in a way that feels true to you, and let each small step build momentum.
